We learned many things this week. Manifest Destiny was the first thing we learned about. Manifest Destiny was in the late 19th century and was a belief or doctrine that it was the destiny of the U.S. to expand its territory over North America. They said it was gods will. There was a war between the U.S. and Mexico and we had to fight to get California, New Mexico and Arizona. We penetrated far enough into Mexico and the Mexicans surrendered.
